I started as a front-end specialist but grew into a software engineer who happens to focus on the web platform. That distinction matters: I care about how a system behaves under load, how it fails, and how it evolves over time — not just how it looks on a Tuesday afternoon. My day-to-day work spans React 19, Next.js 16, edge runtime, and the occasional Prisma + PostgreSQL schema when a project needs persistence.
I treat Core Web Vitals as a contract, not a target. Every project I ship gets a Lighthouse pass before it goes to production, and I keep a running log of bundle sizes, Time to Interactive, and LCP. When I take over a slow codebase, the first thing I do is instrument it — you can't optimize what you can't measure, and most performance problems are obvious once the numbers are visible.
Freelancing on Khamsat for 10+ clients taught me that done is better than perfect — but 'done' has a real definition. For me, done means: deployed, tested, documented, and handed off with the client able to maintain it themselves. That mindset has carried into every project since, including the open-source work I'm starting to publish in 2025.

Intelligent medical platform for preliminary diagnosis
Lead Engineer (solo) · 2025
A bilingual (Arabic-first) intelligent medical platform for preliminary symptom diagnosis, AI-assisted health guidance, and doctor discovery — built with a focus on accessibility, privacy, and trust for Arabic-speaking users.
My Role
Owned the entire product end-to-end: requirements gathering with medical advisors, system architecture, full-stack implementation, deployment, and handoff. Made every technical decision from database schema to UI component design, with no team dependencies.
Problem
Arabic-speaking patients lacked a trustworthy, private symptom-triage tool in their native language. Existing English-only checkers don't account for MENA-region clinical context, RTL UX conventions, or cultural expectations around medical information.
Approach
Built a Next.js 16 application with route-level RTL handling, an AI inference layer for symptom analysis, and a custom component layer on Shadcn/ui primitives. Implemented JWT authentication with bcrypt password hashing, Prisma ORM + PostgreSQL for persistence, and a structured symptoms taxonomy organized by medical categories (general, respiratory, digestive, etc.).
Outcome
Shipped to production with full RTL support and zero layout regressions across LTR/RTL routes. Achieved Lighthouse 98 (Performance), 100 (Accessibility), 100 (Best Practices). 100% free for end users with complete privacy guarantees.

Digital marketing landing page that converts
Freelance — Full Build · 2025
A professional, conversion-optimized landing page for Suoad — a Saudi digital marketing company. Built from scratch with full RTL support, custom interactive components, and SEO engineered from day one.
My Role
Worked directly with the Suoad founder to translate their sales pitch into an interactive landing experience. Handled the full lifecycle: discovery, design direction, frontend implementation, SEO strategy, deployment, and post-launch ad-campaign support.
Problem
Suoad needed a landing page that converted Saudi traffic into leads, but their existing template-driven site was generic, slow, and lacked the interactive storytelling their sales pitch relied on. The page had to load fast, rank well, and feel premium.
Approach
Built a Next.js 16 + React 19 landing page with Tailwind CSS 4. Implemented custom interactive components: a WhatsApp-style audio player with draggable progress bar, an image lightbox, and before/after comparison sliders. SEO was engineered from the ground up with Open Graph, Twitter Cards, structured data, and a perfect Lighthouse SEO score.
Outcome
100% client satisfaction. Lighthouse SEO score 98/100. The client immediately launched an ad campaign on the site with confidence in conversion quality — and reported back that the page held up under paid traffic without performance regressions.

Cleaning services platform with pricing engine

A full-featured website for CleanDays — a leading Saudi cleaning services company. Features a real-time pricing engine for 8+ services, automatic PDF invoice generation with 15% Saudi VAT, multi-gateway payment integration, and seamless WhatsApp connectivity.
My Role
Owned the project end-to-end: requirement discovery with the CleanDays operations team, pricing engine design (including Saudi VAT compliance logic), payment gateway integrations, PDF invoice generation, deployment, and client training for content updates.
Problem
CleanDays was handling quotes manually via WhatsApp — slow response times, no upsell mechanism, no consistent pricing across services, and no way to enforce the mandatory 15% Saudi VAT. They were leaving money on the table with every inquiry.
Approach
Built a Next.js 16 + Tailwind CSS 4 application with Framer Motion choreography. Implemented a real-time pricing engine covering 8+ services with VAT logic, multi-gateway payment integration (Mada, Visa, Mastercard, STC Pay, Apple Pay, Tabby, Tamara), and automatic PDF invoice generation. Premium teal and gold identity with full RTL Arabic support.
Outcome
8+ services automated. 6 payment gateways integrated. +40% client revenue uplift from upsell flows alone. Replaced 100% of manual quoting within 2 weeks of launch — the WhatsApp quoting workflow was completely retired.

Cinematic luxury interior design studio website

A cinematic single-page portfolio for ROUQY — a luxury interior design studio in Riyadh. Scroll-driven GSAP animations, an SVG logo that draws itself stroke-by-stroke, a horizontal scroll-jacked gallery, and a rotating circular-text WhatsApp CTA. Dark immersive aesthetic.
My Role
Owned both the design vision and the engineering implementation. Translated the studio's physical design language into a digital cinematic experience — chose the dark teal palette, choreographed the scroll animation sequence, hand-built the SVG logo draw effect, and shipped a JSON content layer so the client can self-serve post-launch.
Problem
ROUQY's previous site didn't match the craftsmanship of their physical work. They needed a cinematic, immersive experience that communicated luxury through motion and restraint — not a generic portfolio template. The client explicitly asked for the website to feel like 'walking through one of our designed spaces'.
Approach
Designed a dark immersive teal aesthetic with GSAP + ScrollTrigger for scroll-driven choreography. The ROUQY logo is rendered as an inline SVG path; on scroll, GSAP's strokeDashoffset technique draws the outline stroke-by-stroke, then fades in the fill — as if sketched in real time. On desktop, the logo then scales 7x and slides right to reveal the about section. Built a JSON-driven content layer so the client can update copy without touching code.
Outcome
100% client satisfaction. 5+ animation sections shipped. JSON-based content management enabled full client editability post-handoff — the studio updates their portfolio without developer involvement.

Full-featured e-commerce learning project
Personal Project · 2024
A full-featured e-commerce application built with React.js featuring product filtering, shopping cart, and responsive design. Includes product search, category filtering, and a streamlined checkout flow.
My Role
Solo build, designed and implemented everything from scratch. Used this project to deeply learn React state management, component composition, and the e-commerce domain — every line of code is mine, with no tutorial hand-holding.
Problem
A learning project to internalize React fundamentals — component composition, state management, and the cart lifecycle — without the noise of a real backend. The goal was to build something production-shaped, not a tutorial clone.
Approach
Built with vanilla React.js and CSS3, using Context API for cart state. Implemented search, category filtering, and a streamlined checkout flow. Focused on responsive design across mobile/tablet/desktop, and wrote every component from scratch (no UI library) to internalize the patterns.
Outcome
Solidified my mental model of React state and component patterns. Became the foundation for the more complex Next.js apps that followed — the patterns I learned here (cart lifecycle, optimistic UI, debounced search) are still in my production code today.
